A complete guide to the dashboard, metrics, data, definitions, and reporting standards
The MAC Executive Dashboard brings participating MAC centres together in one clear national view.
It helps MAC leadership, centre mangers, volunteers, and community members discover programs, understand centre activity, recognize community impact, and identify opportunities for improvement and collaboration.
The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), is a Canadian charitable organization focuses on serving communities across Canada through Islamic centres, schools, Islam and Dawah education, youth development, social services, and community outreach.
The Executive Dashboard focuses on activities provided through participating MAC masjids, community centres, chapters, and approved programme providers.
MAC centres serve different communities, but they are part of one connected organization. The platform helps users discover centres, explore profiles, search programmes, view the events calendar, understand participation, review programme activity, open centre dashboards and narrative reports, collaborate, and learn from successful practices.
Think of the dashboard as a single, unified view into MAC's centre network. The National Overview combines programme and event activity, Jummah and Fajr attendance, combined social-media followers, and volunteer participation from every reporting centre into one set of indicators — alongside searchable listings, centre profiles, calendars, and narrative reports.

The National Overview combines information from participating MAC masjids and community centres. It may display totals for programmes, sessions, Jummah attendance, social-media audience, Fajr attendance, and volunteers.
A participating centre is a MAC masjid or community centre whose information is included. Some national indicators may use fewer centres when a metric has not been reported by every centre.
Sum of applicable values reported by participating centres
Official Centre Name • City, Province
And each centre has:
Number of distinct valid programme and event records. Repeated sessions count once.
Count of distinct events and program.
Total applicable programme sessions and event occurrences.
Sum of applicable occurrences
Unique records or occurrences intentionally classified as Ramadan activities.
Unique records or occurrences classified for the applicable audience.
Distinct records with a required fee greater than zero.

A volunteer is an individual who contributed time or support to a centre's activities during the reporting period. Volunteer activities may include Ramadan, Eid, summer camp, winter camp, programme support, setup, Jummah operations, registration, food service, youth activities, communications, fundraising, safety, administration, facility support, and outreach.
Volunteer counts are reported by centre and by activity. The total volunteer figure is calculated by summing the reported volunteer counts across all applicable centres and activities. A volunteer may be included in more than one activity category.

The Programme Explorer brings programmes and events from participating MAC centres into one searchable directory. The Primary Category represents the programme's main purpose. Select exactly one primary category based on what the programme is mainly designed to accomplish. Secondary Tags provide additional characteristics without creating duplicate programme records.
Example: A free weekly sisters' Qur'an class during Ramadan may use Sisters Program as the primary category and Educational, Ramadan, Free, Weekly, and In person as secondary tags. The programme remains one unique record.
Each programme is assigned exactly one primary category. The number beside a category represents the number of distinct programme records assigned to that primary category under the active filters.
Number of distinct programme records assigned to the selected primary category
A programme should be counted in only one primary category, even when it could reasonably fit multiple categories. Secondary characteristics such as Youth, Educational, Ramadan, or Weekly should not create additional primary-category counts.
All Months or January through December. A recurring programme may appear in each month containing an occurrence.
All Centres or one selected centre.
Any Time, Today, Upcoming, This Week, Weekdays, or Weekend.
Any Price, Free, or Paid.
Number of search conditions currently applied. "0 active" means no optional filters.

No Programmes Found: No matching programmes were found. Try adjusting or clearing one of the filters to explore more activities.
Number of scheduled sessions based on Start Date + End Date + Event FrequencyScheduled End Time − Scheduled Start TimeNote: Session count should reflect the actual scheduling pattern. For example, a weekly programme running for 8 weeks has approximately 8 sessions, while a daily programme running for 10 days has approximately 10 sessions.
Target Audience identifies the single primary audience the programme is intended for. Each programme must be assigned exactly one audience category from the approved categories below.
Programmes explicitly for young children ages 0–11 (JK to Grade 5) or joint parent-child activities, such as Mommy & Me.
Programmes exclusively for female youth and teens, such as girls in Grades 6–12 or high school girls.
Programmes exclusively for male youth and teens, such as boys in Grades 6–12 or high school boys.
Programmes for mixed-gender teens and young adults, generally ages 12–25 or Grades 6–12.
Programmes specifically for men and/or women ages 18+ without a youth focus.
Programmes explicitly designed for seniors or older adults, such as programmes with a stated age requirement of 60+.
Outreach programmes specifically intended for non-Muslims or people interested in learning about Islam.
Programmes specifically tailored for recent reverts or converts to Islam.
Programmes open to the entire community without a specific age, gender, or participant-group restriction.
Assign exactly one Target Audience to each programme. Select the category that best represents the programme's primary intended audience. Do not assign multiple audience categories to the same programme.
Number of distinct programmes assigned to the selected target audienceBecause each programme has exactly one target audience, the audience categories are mutually exclusive. Therefore, the sum of all audience counts should equal the total number of distinct programmes, subject to the active filters.
The structure and definitions are reusable across all centres. Numbers, dates, categories, audiences, attendance, schedules, capacity, volunteers, Ramadan activity, social-media figures, partnerships, narrative findings, priorities, and data sources differ by centre.
Simple rule: The dashboard structure is shared, but the information belongs to the selected centre.
each Center dashboard has : dashboard itself , All-Centres Event Calendar, Knowledge Base and Q&A

Fields may include row number, programme name, supporting link, start date, end date, category, audience, duration, price status, fee, provider name, and centre or chapter designation.
The Source of Data section identifies records used to prepare the dashboard and narrative report.
A duplicate record occurs when the same programme appears more than once with identical details — same name, dates/time, category, target audience, price, and provider — without a valid reporting reason.
If the same programme name is offered to a different target audience, or held on different dates or times, it is not a duplicate. These should be documented as distinct cohorts or sessions.
The Formula button explains what is counted, which records are included or excluded, how repeated activities are handled, how active filters affect the result, and whether scheduled or completed occurrences are used.

Use the same definitions and counting rules.

Update according to the agreed schedule.
Identify unavailable, incomplete, or estimated values.
Use authorized review before publication.

The dashboard supports understanding, learning, accountability, and improvement. It should not be used to rank centres without considering community population, facility size, length of operation, staffing, volunteer capacity, funding, partnerships, programme space, construction or renovation, seasonal patterns, community needs, and reporting completeness.
Unique programmes show variety. Recurring sessions show consistency and volume. Attendance shows participation. Volunteer counts show community contribution. Social-media figures show digital audience. Narrative reports provide context. Together, they create a balanced picture.
